There are companies that are recruiting extra help right now where you could find work.
The obvious industries include the healthcare sector which is facing unprecedented demand.
Kendra Banks, the managing director of Seek in Australia, told The Guardian Australia there was an increasing demand for nurses, aged care workers, counsellors and social workers.
The National Patient Transport Group is also seeking Ambulance Transport Attendants for their expanding team.
“We’re also seeing a rise in the need for nannies and tutors, as parents and carers who now need to work from home look for additional support in the home with care and education,” Ms Banks said.
Supermarket giants like Woolworths and Coles are also mass hiring for roles like delivery drivers and casual staff to keep their shelves stocked in this period of crisis.
Here are some ideas for where you could find your next job:
Services
Centrelink is hiring 5,000 additional workers to help clear the queues which made national headlines. Services Australia is hiring 5,000 people, namely service officers to help customers access programmes and a range of payments.

If you have skills in digital design such as website development, logo design or e-commerce, there are a number of opportunities on platforms such as Freelancer.com, Upwork, Fiverr or Airtasker.
There are many small business owners and sole traders who are looking to shift their business model online – and need help doing it.
Online tutor
Many students are now learning from home, too, and will need additional support. Some popular online tutoring platforms for Australian teachers and students are Airstudy, Cluey Learning, LearnMate, Tutornova, and Tutors Field.
Mining
Stephen Tuffley, the director of sales and service at Seek in Australia told SBS: “The resource and mining sector is probably taking the most advantage of the low Australian dollar at the moment.”
“There are jobs out there for mine supervisors, diggers and so on, so skilled and unskilled jobs.”
