Looking past the supermarket for household items like washing detergent and cleaning products can save you hundreds of dollars a month.

Websites like Catch.com.au, which are known more for their bargains on sporting equipment and fashion, also sell groceries. Some at better prices than the supermarkets. Catch.com.au often sells in bulk, so if you are willing to fork out a bit more in the short term, you will save more in the future.

Buyer beware – make sure you only buy things in bulk which you know you will use. So if they are trusted brands, which you have used before or you are loyal to, then it’s a safe bet.
